Jamie and Alisa Young are the glowingly positive owners of Sandia Crust Pizza Company; known for it's trendy, eclectic gourmet pies.

"I feel great about the food we prepare and serve", says Alisa. "Our staff is happy, our customers are satisfied, and tomorrow's another day to do it all over and do it even better."

After graduating from culinary school in South Carolina, Jamie moved to Lake Tahoe, "to ski all day and chef all night," he recalls. Jamie discovered another lifelong love, the Grateful Dead, and made and sold veggie stir-fry on tour to support his travels to see the band.

It was in Denver that Jamie met Alisa. A native of Los Angeles, Alisa says, "I was fascinated with food since the age of four." Between Dead shows and classes at UCLA, she worked as a saucier and was heavily influenced by the "California Cuisine" explosion.

The couple moved from Breckenridge, Colorado to New Mexico in 2001 to be closer to Alisa's family and start planning their restaurant. Now, they are both excited about plans to expand into a larger location, still in Cedar Crest, with their own microbrewery and live music (think Stella Blue).
